The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) has won an Emmy Award in the category of “New Approaches to News & Documentary Programming: Current News Coverage” for its “Crisis Guide: Iran,” an interactive learning tool with timelines, maps, analysis and other resources.
“We are excited about this recognition and proud of the team behind this series, said CFR President Richard N. Haass. “This award underscores the need not only for quality scholarship and analysis, but also for it to be presented in an accessible and engaging way, through the use of the most advanced media technologies.”
CFR was selected among five media organization finalists in that category: ABCNews.com, NYTimes.com, NBC, al-Jazeera English and Globeandmail.com. The CFR Crisis Guides have won two other Emmy Awards.
The project was done with support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York and in conjunction with MediaStorm, a production company that co-produced the series.
