Lukewarm in the belly

Now Romney’s supporters are worried that he will never get past the lukewarm stage with voters. This is funny. Were they only recently introduced to Mr. Romney? The most exciting thing this man has done in his entire life was posing with Bain executives fondling and chewing on dollar bills, and even there you can almost hear him thinking “THIS one could come back and haunt me”.

Campaign stories such as this are amazing glimpses at how completely vacuous campaigns can be in their offstage “quiet rooms.” Advisors advise Romney to use more conservative code words and create “small pictures” to connect with voters. Make that picture of you fondling money SMALLER, Mitt! Talk about that time your shoelace broke and you had to lay off 10,000 people while wearing a loose shoe. Humanize yourself.

And now that your only story you have to tell, that Obama was making the economy worse turned out to be, uh, wrong, BROADEN the scope of what you talk about to show your expertise in other areas, including the environment! There’s the ticket. Just THINK about what Mitt Romney would say to the GOP primary voter about the environment. “Hey folks, let’s talk climate change”. You can hear the flolding chairs toppling as the last voter flees the room. But then there is this: “There is also a strong feeling that Romney should be careful not to stray too far from who he is.” They may never be able to determine where that is, but I can assure you the temperature there is lukewarm.
