AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ hits new ratings high

Zombie fans don’t watch music trophy shows?

Opposite the second most watched Grammy Award broadcast in the past two decades, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” nonetheless managed to attract the biggest crowd in its history -- more than 12 million viewers.

Sunday’s episode marked the mid-season return of the zombiedram’s third season.

 Add in the folks who watched multiple repeats of the episode, starting with one at 11 p.m. – Grammys still going on at that point – and you’ve got nearly 17 million viewers.

 “The Walking Dead’s” previous best ever had been its October third-season debut,which clocked just under 11 million viewers.
