ABC News finally booked a date for Ann Romney to sub for Robin Roberts on its morning infotainment program “Good Morning America”: Wednesday, Oct. 10.

As we reported last month, the wife of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney was expected to be booked to co-host with George Stephanopoulos during the lighter, 8 a.m. hour of the franchise.  The show also hopes to book the first lady to co-host in the same hour, on some other day.

“GMA” had already signed up Stephen Colbert, the cast of the ABC comedy “Modern Family,” “Rob Lowe, Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer, among others, to fill in for Roberts.

Roberts took a temporary break from the show on Aug. 30 to undergo a bone marrow transplant, having revealed on the show in June that she has MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease. Roberts underwent chemotherapy before the transplant.
