CBS sets win-a-job competition reality show premiere for Feb. 8

CBS announced Thursday its new win-a-job competition series “The Job” will premiere on Friday, Feb. 8.

In the series, five candidates will participate in several rounds of elimination challenges before a panel of executives as they compete for their dream job.

Sounds kind of like “The Apprentice” only without The Donald, right? Not unexpected, given that show exec producer Mark Burnett is one of the guys behind “The Apprentice.”

Burnett’s sharing credits in this one with Michael Davies of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and “Watch What Happens” fame.

And here’s where the two shows differ: on “The Job,” in addition to each episode’s featured company with a position available, reps from three guest companies from related industries will have the chance to make an on-the-spot offer to one of the competitors. That competitor must decide if they will accept the offer or remain in the running for the featured job. “The Apprentice” meets “Shark Tank”!
