The former ABC newsman’s program will be telecast weekdays at 4 p.m., cutting into Wolf Blitzer’s “The Situation Room” by one hour.

MSNBC’s Federico Quadrani has been named exec producer of Tapper’s new show, which will debut in March.

Prior to MSNBC, Quadrani was an Emmy-winning producer for NBC’s “Today” show from 2003 to 2009, working in various roles from senior graphics producer to supervising producer. He created and supervised all aspects of various news segments such as: Today at the Vatican and Where in the World is Matt Lauer?  Prior to NBC, Quadrani worked as a writer at ABC’s “Good Morning America” from 1998 to 2003.

In addition to Tapper’s program, new CNN boss Jeff Zucker is working on a new morning show for former ABC News “20/20” anchor Chris Cuomo, who will be partnered with Erin Burnett.
