CNN to telecast no more Larry King specials

With “the greatest respect,” CNN said Wednesday it has formally ended its relationship with Larry King -- which you only thought had ended a while ago.

Since he stopped doing his long-running primetime show for the cable news network back in December of ’10, King still had a deal to do a series of specials for the network, including interviews with Johnny Depp, some of the people behind the “Harry Potter” flicks,  and the creepiest of all, “Dinner with the Kings,”  in which dinner guest Russell Brand rummaged through King’s wife’s undies drawer at King’s Beverly Hills mansion.

Also at that dinner, King told his guests, who included Conan O’Brien, “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane, Tyra Banks, Shaquille O'Neal, Jack Dorsey, and Quincy Jones, that he plans to be frozen when he dies, so that when they find the cure for whatever he died of, they can unfreeze him and bring him back.

Sadly, that first King Couple CNN Dinner is now also the last.
