Conan O’Brien will officiate a gay wedding on his show tonight, looks at media reaction to the announcement

In case you missed it, Conan O’Brien revealed the reason for temporarily taking his show to New York — word leaked last week that the late-night host would officiate a gay marriage ceremony for one of his staffers, on-air.

“This will be the first, I believe, same-sex wedding performed on late night television,” Conan pointed out on the show last night. He added that he will be officiating the honors on Thursday for his show’s costume designer, Scott Cronick, and Cronick’s partner, David Gorshein.

In the meantime, Conan took a fond look back at the media reaction to the story. Spoiler alert: People may or may not think he’s pushing the envelope.
