Craig Ferguson persuades Scotland’s first minister, Alex Salmond, to make an appearance on an American talk show

   Craig Ferguson has taken his CBS late night talk show international this week, traveling to Scotland for a string of shows.

While there, he managed to persuade the country’s first minister, Alex Salmond, to sit for an interview — Salmond’s first on an American talk show — in which they discussed a myriad of topics. For example:

Ferguson: In an independent Scotland, which, of course, you are championing and is what you are working to achieve, what is the role of the relationship between an Independent Scotland that you propose and the United States of America?  What would that look like?

Salmond: Friendly.

Ferguson: Friendly would be a good idea, I think.

The interview airs Tuesday night — here’s a clip:
