CW renews five series, including ‘Vampire Diaries’ and ‘Gossip Girl’

CW is picking up five of its primetime shows for next season and its flagship series “America’s Next Top Model” will, for the first time, do an “all-stars” edition.

Picked up for next season are supernatural dramas “The Vampire Diaries” and, well, “Supernatural,”along with teen soaps “Gossip Girl” and “90210.”

Noticeably missing from this list are the shows CW developed for this season, spy series “Nikita” and cheerleading drama “Hellcats.” Also missing is long-in-the-tooth soap “One Tree Hill.”
