‘Dancing With the Stars’ announces new lineup on Tuesday, but leaks one name early — Jacoby Jones

Before the official cast list is announced on Tuesday, looks like “Dancing With the Stars” is trying to drum up some excitement for the upcoming edition — after a disappointing all-star season that left many (including ABC execs) underwhelmed. In a blink-and-you-missed it commercial during the Oscars Sunday night, the network announced that Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones will be part of the upcoming cast.

(And in case some viewers did miss it, ABC followed it up later with a confirmation tweet.)

Jones had told Jimmy Kimmel a couple weeks earlier that he was very enthused about the prospect of going on the show, so it’s not too surprising.

The network officially announces the spring lineup for the show’s 16th season on Tuesday morning, right in the middle of “Good Morning America.” Other names currently being tossed around as potential competitors include “Bachelor” Sean Lowe, chef Bobby Flay, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman and country singer/“American Idol” contestant Kellie Pickler.

The new “DWTS” season kicks off Monday, March 18.
