‘Dancing With the Stars’ to announce all-star cast next week. Will Bristol Palin be included?

"Dancing with the Stars" (Adam Taylor - ABC)

ABC plans to reveal the cast for the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars” next Friday, July 27 — and since it will be an all-star edition, some very familiar names will be involved.

The cast list will be unveiled at the second day of ABC’s presentation at the Summer TV Press Tour 2012, the network tweeted on Monday.

While a few names have been thrown around online about who might be returning — former Spice Girl Mel B., style expert Carson Kressley, actor Joey Lawrence, etc. — another potential cast member name has leaked out: Bristol Palin.

Bristol, for those who don’t remember, competed on the Fall 2010 edition, and defied all odds by making it to the final night of competition (she ultimately lost to Jennifer Grey, who some said had an unfair advantage being, well, a professional dancer).

Anyway, Bristol’s possible return — brought up by the colorful, longtime former E! Online gossip columnist Ted Casablanca last week — would be on the heels of her disastrous (ratings-wise) turn as the star of her own reality show for Lifetime, “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.” The docu-series, about the adventures of Bristol and her family, opened to just 726,000 viewers, and sank to 586,000 people the following week, causing the network to move it out of primetime and into late night.

Presumably, Bristol wouuld be looking to make her reality TV comeback on what’s sure to be the much-anticipated edition of “DWTS.”
