Disney Channel casts ‘Boy Meets World’ spinoff star

“Boy Meets World” (The Associated Press - SEE CAPTION)
A Disney child star graduates — another Disney child star is born.

While celebrity suck-up shows continue to get the vapors over Cosmopolitan’s March cover, in which former Disney child star Miley Cyrus wears an unbuttoned jacket and — gasp — no bra!, and talks about how it took two years to erase her Disney Channel image, Disney Channel revealed to Entertainment Weekly that 11-year-old Rowan Blanchard (you remember her from “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D”) will play the daughter of Cory and Topanga in its pilot for a “Boy Meets World” spinoff, “Girl Meets World.”

“As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” pilot producer Michael Jacobs, told EW Tuesday, adding, “Rowan is real and accessible and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.”

It’s the Circle of Life.
