Jimmy Kimmel will prove he can not only do late-night, he can do pre-dawn on Thursday when he steps in to announce Emmy noms in the glam categories with “Scandal” star Kerry Washington.
The star of ABC’s late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” — and this year’s Emmy Awards host — is a last-minute replacement, filling in for “Parks and Recreation” star Nick Offerman, who “regretfully is not able to arrive in time” to make the 4:30 a.m. PT announcement from TV academy digs in North Hollywood, the academy’s Emmy PR firm said around 9:30 p.m. ET Wednesday.
It’s nice timing for Kimmel if, as some have forecast, the list read Thursday morning includes his first Emmy nom for his ABC late-night hosting gig.
Offerman bailed “due to weather and wide spread travel delays on the east coast,” the PR firm said in the statement.
Kimmel will next be seen, Emmy-wise, hosting the trophy show on ABC on Sept. 23.
