Eric Sherling to oversee Washington political programming for CNN

Eric Sherling (CNN - CNN)
Eric Sherling has returned to CNN as director of Washington programming. This after a stint as exec broadcast producer of ABC News’s “Good Morning America.”

Sherling will oversee Washington political programming for the cable news network, including “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” “John King, USA”, “State of the Union with Candy Crowley” and “Reliable Sources.” He will also take a lead role in special campaign coverage, including debates, primary night and Election night programming.

Sherling’s first round at CNN began in 2000, as a producer at its Atlanta HQ. He became exec producer of “Wolf Blitzer Reports” in Washington, and was supervising producer of “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” at the time of its launch in summer of ’05, before being upped to exec producer of the CNN staple.
