Faith Hill steps down as Sunday Night Football opening act

“I’ve just let everyone [at SNF] know it’s time 2 let someone else rock the open,” Hill tweeted Monday morning.

“….Difficult decision. Kinda emotional. Love all u guys at SNF — I’ll b watching!!!” Hill added.

Hill has sung “SNF’s” “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” opening tune for six years. Before Hill, Hank Williams. Jr. was the theme-tune singer for NFL’s “Monday Night Football” for two decades; he exited abruptly after referencing Adolf Hitler in describing a golf summit between President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner.

“Great love and appreciation” “SNF” exec producer Fred Gaudelli tweeted, in re Hill, while remaining coy as to replacement plans. Maybe one of “The Voice” judges? That’s the kind of silly synergy would appeal to network suits.
