Fox execs say ‘Idol’ will be “tweaked” next season; report claims Jennifer Lopez is leaving

Two days after Fox programming chief Kevin Reilly told reporters on a phone conference call there would be creative “tweaks” to “American Idol,” but neither he nor Fox Entertainment chairman Peter Rice, who was also on the call, would discuss details, because, they said, the show’s current season was still airing — which, in round numbers, would appear to mean one of the judges was about to get whacked.

E! — the network of Ryan Seacrest — is reporting, um, reported sources saying “Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez is planning to call it quits on the show to spend more time with her children.

For public consumption, JLo says she has yet to make a decision, in re her future on the singing competition, E! Online noted in its report.
