Golden Globes: ‘ Homeland’ wins for drama series, actor in a drama

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA

WINNER: The Brit: Damian Lewis in “Homeland.” He prattles on about shooting “in the intolerable heat in North Carolina.”

- Steve Buscemi in “Boardwalk Empire”

- Bryan Cranston in “Breaking Bad”

- Jeff Daniels in “The Newsroom”

- Jon Hamm in “Mad Men”

BEST TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA

WINNER: “Homeland,” which also won last year. Sadly, “Downton Abbey” did not win; a pall settles over the PBS-hosted viewing party at Winter TV Press Tour 2013. That’s life.

Executive producer Alex Gansa gave a shout out to those actors whose characters were “sacrificed on the altar” of the drama series, making unhappy some tweeters who complain he “spoiled” it for them.
