BEST TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA

WINNER: “Homeland,” which also won last year. Sadly, “Downton Abbey” did not win; a pall settles over the PBS-hosted viewing party at Winter TV Press Tour 2013. That’s life.

Executive producer Alex Gansa gave a shout out to those actors whose characters were “sacrificed on the altar” of the drama series, making unhappy some tweeters who complain he “spoiled” it for them.

- “Breaking Bad”

- “Boardwalk Empire”

- “Downton Abbey: Season 2”

- “The Newsroom”
