WINNER: Don Cheadle in “House of Lies.” This is shaping up as a great night for CBS’s Showtime pay cable network, which had already won two Globes for “Homeland,” and could win a third

- Alec Baldwin in “30 Rock”

- Jim Parsons in “The Big Bang Theory”

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA

Winner: Claire Danes in “Homeland,” who also won last year, and has now taken to thanking “my cast,” and regaling us with stories about the costumer who “let out my pants every [expletive] week” because she was pregnant.

- Connie Britton in “Nashville”

- Glenn Close in “Damages”

- Michelle Dockery in “Downton Abbey: Season 2”

- Julianna Margulies in “The Good Wife”

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A TELEVISION SERIES -COMEDY OR MUSICAL

WINNER: Lena Dunham in “Girls,” who gives the best/worst acceptance speech — or, more accurately, the worst acceptance slip of paper reading, when she nicks the other nominees, calling them women who inspired her and made her laugh and comforted her while she was growing up. Ouch!

- Zooey Deschanel in “New Girl”

- Julia Louis-Dreyfus in “Veep”

- Tina Fey in “30 Rock”

- Amy Poehler in “Parks and Recreation”

“Congratulations Lena, I’m glad we got you through middle school,” Tina Fey snarked, up on stage after Dunham sat down.

BEST TELEVISION SERIES - COMEDY OR MUSICAL

Winner: “Girls.” Lena Dunham pulls out another sheet of paper and reads. “I was elected to speak for our team,” she explained. She ends by thanking Chad Lowe.
