Gun control debate all over TV this week

The gun control debate is all over TV this week, on wildly opposite ends of the spectrum. Tuesday night, former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) and her husband, Mark Kelly, will sit down for an interview with Daine Sawyer on ”ABC World News” to talk about their new initiative to stop gun violence, called “Americans for Responsible Solutions.”

It’s exactly two years to the day after Giffords was shot in the head while meeting with constituents outside a Safeway in Tuscon, Ariz. The shooter, Jared Loughner, pled guilty and was sentenced to seven consecutives life sentences in prison, plus 140 years, without parole.

“I think we all need to try to do something about [gun violence],” said Kelly, who talks about the couple’s recent trip to Newtown, Conn., to meet with families of the mass school shooting. “It’s obvious to everybody we have a problem. And problems can be solved.”

A preview of the interview aired on “Good Morning America”:

Jones — taking issue with the fact that Morgan, in the wake of the Newtown shooting, has publicly and repeatedly announced he’s in favor of gun control — appeared on Morgan’s show, for a very intense interview.

“The Republic will rise again if you attempt to take our guns!” he yelled at one point. Here’s a clip:
