Is Randy Jackson done as judge on ‘American Idol’?

Will the judges table on “American Idol” be Randy Jackson-less for the first time in history?

TMZ and other reports say that Jackson is officially out as a judge, though he will continue on as a mentor for the contestants— probably a given, since he’s been in the show with the beginning, and more importantly, a big reason Mariah Carey signed on.

So far, Carey is the only judge signed on for the season, though Nicki Minaj’s deal is apparently almost done. Country singer Keith Urban is also reportedly still in the running, and in negotiations as well.

Last time Fox had a similar major reboot of the judges table, in 2010, the network waited until nearly the end of September to “officially” unveil Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, though the rumor mills has had them in place for weeks.
