Joe DeFeo named news director at NewsChannel 8

Allbritton Communications announced Monday that Joe DeFeo has been named news director at its NewsChannel 8. He starts July 25.

DeFeo is replacing Steve Chaggaris, who left about two months ago. Chaggaris had been vp of cable news during the re-branding of NewsChannel 8 as part of Allbritton’s TBD news multi-media brand, incorporating broadcast TV, cable TV, and the Web. Albritton restored the NewsChannel 8 name to the cable TV station last February.

DeFeo spent seven years as the vp for news for the Sinclair Broadcast Group and worked for more than 9 years as news director at WBFF in Baltimore.
