Katie Couric will interview American University professor who breast-fed baby during class

Katie Couric has had an eclectic mix of guests during her first couple of weeks of her talk show, from Jessica Simpson to the “50 Shades of Grey” author to a woman who survived a flesh-eating bacteria. On Wednesday, Couric expands further with Adrienne Pine, the American University professor who recently made headlines by breast-feeding her sick baby while she was teaching a class.

“American University professor and single mother Adrienne Pine joins Katie Couric to discuss the controversy she accidentally created recently when she fed her sick toddler while teaching,” the press release said. “Katie discusses the heated topic: is breastfeeding OK in class?”

Earlier this month, Pine wrote a lengthy blog entry to defend herself against an article that the American University student newspaper was putting together, about how some students were uncomfortable with the situation in class. The story quickly went viral.

“Katie” airs on WJLA at 4 p.m.
