MTV to air fundraising special featuring cast of ‘Jersey Shore’

MTV is the next network to air a fundraiser in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. The cable channel announced Monday morning that it will air a one-hour special on Thursday, Nov. 15, called “Restore the Shore,” which will urge people to donate to rebuild Seaside Heights, an area of the Jersey Shore devastated by the storm last week.

Of course, Seaside Heights is also home to the show “Jersey Shore,” and the cast — Snooki, The Situation, etc. — will be on hand during the special.

This announcement comes a few days after the networks of NBC Universal hosted a telethon, in which HBO also participated, and as ABC kicked off a “Day of Giving” Monday, dedicating time in all their programs to encourage donations to the Red Cross.
