“I literally got this the day after I won the Oscar,” Faxon, who won his Oscar for co-writing the screenplay on George Clooney flick “The Descendants,” told curious TV critics at Summer TV Press Tour 2012. “I don’t necessarily think I’m going to be handed acting roles” because of his writing Oscar.

Added “Ben and Kate” creator Dana Fox, “Let me clarify: we locked him in before he realized he’d made a huge mistake.”

And what’s former Miss Golden Globe, Dakota Johnson doing slumming as the uptight single mom half of “Ben and Kate” in Fox’s new sitcom?

She’s complaining, at Summer TV Press Tour 2012, when one TV critic suggested her parents, Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith are funny people and should appear on her show. “This is MY show, this is not their show. This is for me,” said Johnson, who got her first acting break on “Crazy in Alabama” thanks to the show’s star — her mom — and who, on Fox’s promotional material, lists her hometown as “Aspen.”
