On the heels of CBS renewing a whopping 18 shows this week, NBC has also started making steps toward the 2012-2013 TV schedule by renewing “Grimm” for a second season, the network confirmed on Friday.

The supernatural/fairy tale detective drama has been solid for the network on Friday nights, with about 5 million viewers tuning last week.

This is the first bit of good news in awhile for NBC’s new shows for the 2011-2012 season. The network has already canceled “The Playboy Club,” “Free Agents,” “Prime Suspect,” and sent “The Firm” to Saturday Night Burn-off Theatre.
