Robin Williams in talks to team up with David E. Kelley for comedy series

Robin Williams is in talks to team up with David E. Kelley for a comedy series in which he would play an ad exec, TV Guide says.

Though it’s being developed as a single-camera, laugh track-free comedy, expect it to show up on CBS’s development slate — Kelley presumably having learned there is no upside in making a successful series for NBC starring someone nearly as old as Kathy Bates.

Since starring as Mork, the alien from Ork, on the hit sitcom “Mork and Mindy,” Williams has not had a starring TV series role, though he has done comedy specials and TV guest gigs — most recently on FX’s “Louie.”
