Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert’s visit to ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” attracted the show’s eighth biggest audience ever — 2.52 million viewers.

Anticipating your next question — What seven things could be bigger for Kimmel viewers than the opportunity to watch him interview Stewart and Colbert simultaneously (no, Kimmel interviewing his idol David Letterman, the night before, is not one of the seven, having averaged around 2.4 million viewers) – we looked into it.
Turns out, the most watched episode ever of “JKL” happened in March of 2009, when “The Bachelor’s” Jason Mesnick was his guest — right after having dumped the chick he’d picked as the winner on live TV earlier that night, deciding instead he’d rather have the runner-up chick. Nearly 3.2 million people watched the ABC late night show that night to see what Mesnick would have to say — or maybe what Kimmel would have to say to Mesnick.
An addition four episodes, of the seven that have scored more viewers than Thursday’s episode, were nights in which Kimmel’s guest was whoever had just been named winner of “Dancing with the Stars.”
Comedy Central stars Colbert and Stewart stopped by Kimmel’s show on his third day broadcasting from Brooklyn; they delivered Kimmel his biggest overall audience in nearly a year.
