Stephen Colbert to unveil wax figure Friday in DC

Comedy Central late-night host Stephen Colbert is the latest celeb to be immortalized in wax , and Colbert himself will be in DC on Friday to oversee an unveiling of his wax figure at Madame Tussauds.

(UPDATE: Read about Colbert’s appearance here .)

The wax museum is updating its “media room” for Colbert’s wax figure, placing it at a replica of his New York City studio.

Colbert apparently was enthusiastic about becoming a wax object, as he donated his own clothes for the project, and worked with a team of artists who took hundreds of measurements and photograph to make sure they captured his every angle, as well as his “signature raised eyebrow.”

A rep for the museum was not immediately aware of other TV news (or faux TV news) that had merited inclusion in Washington’s wax works bureau, but the Web site notes helpfully that Colbert will be keeping company with J. Edgar Hoover, Hillary Clinton, Marion Barry, Benjamin Franklin and Malcolm X.
