Tyler Perry hopes Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown can do for his TBS sitcom “For Better or Worse” what she did for Oprah Winfrey Network.
Perry’s cast Bobbi Kristina in a recurring role in the sitcom, which debuts its second season in July, reports the Web site The Wrap.
Houston died at the Beverly Hilton hotel on the eve of the Grammy Awards in Feburary.
Oprah interviewed Bobbi Kristina last month, and pulled in 3.5 million viewers – the biggest audience ever for the network, which is a co-venture of Oprah’s Harpo and Silver Spring-based Discovery Communications.
Bobbi Kristina hinted at her casting during her interview with Oprah, saying she planned to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a singer and actress.
Perry reportedly made his private jet available to Houston’s family to transport her body to Newark, N.J. He also spoke at Houston’s funeral, which was widely covered in the media.
