WTTG promotes Sarah Simmons to morning news anchor

Sarah Simmons (WTTG) A few weeks after losing morning news anchor Steve Cheveney to WJLA, Washington’s Fox station WTTG has promoted Sarah Simmons to permanent co-anchor of “Fox 5 Morning News.”

Simmons, who has already been filling in the position since Gurvir Dhindsa left the morning news show last March, will helm the show from 4:30 to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday. Simmons will temporarily be joined by reporter Wisdom Martin, who continues to fill-in as co-anchor while the station looks for Cheveney’s replacement.

Simmons first joined WTTG in 2006 as a general assignment reporter.
