Bolling treats campaign donors to a getaway

For the fourth year in a row, Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R) is holding a getaway for his some of his biggest supporters Sunday and Monday at Keswick Hall at Monticello.

About 50 people are attending the event. Gov. Robert F. McDonnell (R) will arrive Monday night.

Bolling quietly formed a campaign committee last year to run for governor in 2013.

In the spring of 2008, Bolling surprised many people, including McDonnell, then attorney general, by deciding to seek re-election. McDonnell and Bolling ran as a team last year, and McDonnell has pledged to support Bolling for governor in 2013.

Bolling, a former state senator who represented suburban Richmond, works part time as lieutenant governor and also is in the insurance business.

His political action committee is paying for the event.
