Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (R) was in South Carolina Monday night to attend a forum of the Republican candidates for president.
The forum, hosted by a tea party favorite, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), explored candidates’ views of the U.S. Constitution.
Cuccinelli participated in post forum commentary, the attorney general’s political director Noah Wall said.
“Ken is hoping to learn more about all the candidates, and this forum was an outstanding way to get to accomplish that goal,’’ he said.
Last month, we told you Cuccinelli had been contacted by three candidates — Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum and former House speaker Newt Gingrich. On Thursday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry called.
Cuccinelli, who has become popular in tea party circles, said in a recent interview that he does not know whether he will endorse in the presidential race, but that he will wait at least until after Virginia’s legislative elections in November to decide.
