Current and ex-governor helping in Virginia House races

Virginia governors current and former, Republican and Democratic, have been helping House of Delegates hopefuls. Two events were announced Wednesday.

Gov. Robert F. McDonnell (R) will appear at a fundraising reception Wednesday night for David Ramadan, a Republican running in the 87th District against Democrat Mike Kondratick.

On Sunday, former governor and current U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine (D) will attend a reception for Leesburg Town Councilman Dave Butler, who is running in the 10th District against Republican Randy Minchew.

The Ramadan event takes place at The Tower Club, Tysons Corner, 8000 Towers Crescent Drive, Suite 1700, Vienna. Tickets range from $250 a head to $5,000 for four. VIPs ($1,000 per couple and up) get in on a private reception and photo opportunity. The VIP reception begins at 7 p.m., the general reception at 8 p.m.

The Butler fundraiser takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Palio of Leesburg, 2 West Market St. Tickets range from $150 to $2,500 a head.
