George Allen, Tim Kaine join up to roast longtime columnist

It’s the event Virginia political watchers have been waiting for:

A roast of the professorial Richmond Times Dispatch columnist Jeff Schapiro, a longtime figure in the Capitol press corps.

And it will be bipartisan fun.

Former governors George Allen (R) and Tim Kaine (D), now likely rivals for the U.S. Senate, will roast Schapiro, along with former governor Gerald Baliles (D).

The Virginia Public Access Project, a nonpartisan tracker of money in politics, is hosting the lunch-time event for the bow tied columnist on May 29 in downtown Richmond.

Yes, the event is a fundraiser (tickets are $300). All proceeds go to VPAP.
