Kal Penn to campaign for Obama in Arlington

Kal Penn, the actor/bureaucrat torn between Hollywood and Washington, will give into his wonky-political side Monday, when he campaigns for President Obama in Arlington.

Penn, who gave up a gig on television’s “House” to take one in Obama’s White House, then returned to TV for a role in “How I Met Your Mother,” will meet with young professionals at Cafe Asia in Rosslyn, campaign officials say.

Penn will talk about why he supports Obama and “highlight how high the stakes are for Virginians in this year’s election,”a campaign official said.

The event begins at 6 p.m. Afterward, Penn will head to the campaign’s Arlington office to greet phone-bank volunteers.
