Perry, who stepped down as head of the Republican Governors Association, will be joined by Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, who succeeded him at the RGA, at the convention center in Richmond. Perry is among those GOP hopefuls seeking McDonnell’s endorsement.
Republican officials asked Perry to appear before he announced his candidacy for president this month.
