The chef to Gov. Bob McDonnell and Virginia’s first family has left his job at the Executive Mansion amid a police inquiry.
Virginia state police are investigating allegations of “improprieties involving the kitchen operations at the governor’s mansion,’’ spokeswoman Corinne Geller said.
Chef Todd Schneider was hired in April 2010, a few months after McDonnell (R) moved into the mansion on Capitol Square. He has left the mansion but the circumstances remain unknown.
“Todd Schneider is no longer employed by the commonwealth,’’ McDonnell spokesman Tucker Martin said. “I cannot comment any further on the matter at this time.”
No charges have been filed or arrests made.
