McDonnell will host small business summit today

Virginia Gov. Robert F. McDonnell will host a small business summit in Short Pump today, Thursday, to talk about technology, financing, procurement and other issues.

It begins with a noon luncheon at the Hilton Hotel & Spa, 12042 West Broad Street.

After a number of panel discussions, there will be a question-and-answer session with several of McDonnell’s cabinet members: Secretary of Commerce and Trade James S. Cheng, Secretary of Technology James D. Duffey and Secretary of Administration Lisa Hicks-Thomas. Roger Cole, chairman of the governor’s Small Business Advisory Board, will provide an introduction.

The program will wrap up with a networking reception from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

If you can’t make it to Short Pump, the event will be live streamed on the governor’s Web site.
