Between January and March, the Democratic president raised $992,208 in the commonwealth. Romney pulled in $989,398 over the same period, according to an analysis by the Virginia Public Access Project, a nonpartisan tracker of money in politics.
The totals reflect donations of $200 or more, according to VPAP, which based its analysis on fundraising figures from the Center for Responsive Politics.
