Fresh off a bus tour of electorally crucial Ohio and Pennsylvania, President Obama plans to make a return trip next weekend to another swing state — Virginia.
Obama will make multiple campaign stops in the state Friday and
Saturday as he tries to replicate his performance from 2008, when he became the first Democrat in more than four decades to carry the commonwealth. Obama’s campaign has not yet announced exactly where he will visit.
Several polls have showed a close race in the state between Obama and Mitt Romney (R), though most — including a Washington Post survey released in May — gave the incumbent a narrow lead. Virginia has also been a magnet for outside spending, including a new $3.4 million ad buy from the pro-Republican group Crossroads GPS.
