Ralph Reed’s coalition hopes to register 115,000 voters in Va.

The Faith and Freedom Coalition will announce Monday that the group founded by conservative activist Ralph Reed will launch an effort to register 115,000 voters in Virginia in time for the November election.

Ben Marchi, the former state director of Americans for Prosperity, will return to Virginia to spearhead the effort.

The coalition is focusing on swing states across the nation, including Virginia, which is expected to play a key role in the presidential race and the battle for control of the U.S. Senate. Other states include Florida, Ohio and North Carolina. The group hopes to register 2 million voters.

“We’re getting ramped up in a significant way,’’ said Gary Marx, executive director of the Faith and Freedom Coalition.
