Romney unveils Virginia leadership team

Mitt Romney unveiled the members of his Virginia leadership team Thursday, seeking to show off his local support 10 weeks before the commonwealth’s Republican presidential primary.

The former Massachusetts governor's campaign in Virginia is being led by Lt. Gov Bill Bolling, as was announced back in August. Romney’s complete team includes seven Republican members of the state House as well as several state party officials.

A Quinnipiac University poll of Virginia released last week showed Romney narrowly trailing former House speaker Newt Gingrich among the state’s Republican voters. But Romney got a boost a few days later when the state party announced that Gingrich and Texas Gov. Rick Perry had both failed to make the March 6 primary ballot.
