Va. Senate suit pits Democrats against Billing . . . er, Bolling

A lawsuit filed Monday over control of the Virginia Senate will force the commonwealth to confront important questions.

Such as: How much voting power does the lieutenant governor have? And who controls the Senate?

But before we get to those questions, there’s this one:

“Who is William BILLING?”

Garren Shipley, communications director for the Republican Party of Virginia, sent that query my way after looking at the complaint, filed by Fairfax lawyer John A.C. Keith of Blankingship & Keith.

It misspells Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling’s name right at the top: “A. Donald McEachin, Senator of Virginia, Plaintiff v. William T. Billing, Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Defendant.”
