Ever since he took the helm of the Republican Governors Association, Bob McDonnell (R) has been on national TV so much that, frankly, it might be more newsworthy if some Sunday morning rolls around and he’s not on a talk show.
But the governor’s dance card is especially full this week. On Wednesday alone, he’s booked to discuss the Wisconsin recall election on four national TV and radio programs — three of them within 35 minutes of each other.
McDonnell is in demand not just because he’s a telegenic GOP governor willing to offer his two cents on his Wisconsin counterpart. His job as RGA chief is to get as many Republicans as possible into governor’s mansions, and to keep them there. He was in Wisconsin just last week to stump for embattled Republican Gov. Scott Walker.
Polls indicate Walker has the edge over the Democrat trying to unseat him, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
Here’s McDonnell Wednesday interview schedule, as provided by his office:
7:05 a.m. - MSNBC - Morning Joe
7:15 a.m. - CNN - American Morning
7:40 a.m. - POTUS on Sirius XM
4:40 p.m. - Fox News - Cavuto
That’s on top of an appearance on Fox Business at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. .
