Granite countertops: Really all that?

obsession with granite countertops. It’s the ‘HGTV effect.’ It’s the main selling point of a house. It’s a sign that you’ve ‘made it.’

Really, are granite countertops all that?

The Post’s Real Estate section just did a story on kitchen trends that said granite is on its way out, in favor of quartz. But maybe, given the amount of granite the United States is importing each year, the numbers aren’t there yet.
