Rappahannock County home listed for $1.375M

If you like rustic living and the sound of rushing water, you might be drawn to Gibson’s Mill, a renovated historic residence in Rappahannock County, Va.

The stone, wood and glass home, built on the foundation of an old mill dating to 1717, was reconstructed in 1975 from historical plans and then expanded with a stone and wood addition in 2008 designed to blend with original mill. It is listed at $1.375 million.

Butch Zindel, broker/owner of Rappahannock Real Estate Resources, says the mill was known as a friendly trading post for Native American tribes as well as a local still. Hittles Mill Stream, which originates in the Shenandoah National Park, runs the entire length of the property and contains native trout.
