Need an eight-car garage? Here’s what some homes with one costs.

July 9

An eight-car garage, bricks imported from England, 20,000 square feet of interior space, 50 acres of exterior space, seven bedrooms, seven fireplaces and an art gallery are among the features in some of the properties on the market in the Washington area.

With the help of Rockville-based multiple-listing service MRIS, we compiled a list of some of the most expensive houses for sale in this area. The properties range from a 10,000-square-foot, 20-year-old house in McLean going for $5.6 million to a European-style villa in Potomac selling for $14 million:

• 9300 River Rd., Potomac

$14 million

The property features a gated entry into a European villa constructed of limestone and natural stucco with a two-story domed and hand-painted entry foyer, a wood-paneled library, a luxurious first-floor master suite, a professional-quality home theater and an office suite. The landscaped grounds include a swimming pool.

The estate was designed by Haleh Design and custom-built for builder David Niroo, said Marc Fleisher of Long & Foster Real Estate in Bethesda.

The property also has an indoor heated pool, exercise room, sauna and for the golfer, a driving range mat on the roof with four holes of golf.
