Jump ball: Playing hurt

Michael Lee’s blog post this morning about Nick Young (sore right knee) hoping to play tonight in Toronto prompted varying opinions among readers.

Commenter ts35 says:

If it is a significant problem, then probably best to let him get it healthy. It will be rough on the team in the short term, counting on even more rookies, but it also gives them more chance to get on the floor.

Others, like gmac78, think he should play if the injury isn’t too bad:

This time I think he could do a service to himself and hopefully his future teamates by showing how to tough through it sometimes. With a team this young, although they are getting experience, It would be much more beneficial to have their most effective player on the court with them ...

Young and Rashard Lewis have expressed a desire to play despite injuries. At this stage of the season, do you think it’s worth it?
